Right now the % of 20-25 year old is 11%. Similarly the 15-20 year olds is 10%, 10-15 year olds is 9% and so on.   
The pattern is India is at a spot right now where the highest % of it's population is young enough to just enter the workforce (20-25 year olds). India has 30 years within which the 20 year olds will enter close to retirement age to squeeze all of the growth it can get from it's economy.

At this moment in China's history, China clocked double digit growth (10-12%) straight for 30 years to get to where it is today. Under Modi India has never clocked double digit growth even once and averaged around 6% untill the Trump tariffs. So if I were a betting man I would bet that India will not be ever able to recreate what China did. But if India elects good leadership it may be able to make up for some of the time and get close to China.

There is a significant lack of dignity of labor in our society. You need plumbers, electricians, construction workers, garbage collectors, sewage plant operators to build great infrastructure. All those jobs are looked down upon even if you pay a huge amount of money. Its almost like people are considered impure if they do those jobs specifically. That kind of disrespct doesn't exist in any other society in the world. 

You can't build good infrastructure with AC office jobs only.

Well planned, well maintained, good infra in terms of roads and public place for example Navi Mumbai’s sub-urban railway stations, much cleaner and less crowd than Mumbai, hills nearby, open space, Good civic sense compare to rest of India and a very sound transportation. *Thu thu thu nazar naa lage*

Hear me out - Bangalore is still one of the best urban cities to live if (a big IF):  
1. You stay in the old parts of bangalore like Dollars colony, Jayanagar and have your workspace in the same area and do not have to tread to Whitefield/EC/Indiranagar side. The weather is top notch, people are nice there. But if you stay anywhere out of this this area, its a hell hole. 

  
If weather is not a problem, then I would rate Mangalore/ Trivandrum/ Vishakaptnam.

You can actually not own a car in Mumbai and get by easily. Although BMC and State Govt is trying its best to destroy our bus system and make it a car centric city.

I believe that Hyderabad is developing rapidly with new IT city announced, you see lot of infrastructure going to happen in west side of Hyderabad in upcoming years, best time to invest, mostly west side of Hyderabad is occupied by IT people, and gated communities, people in Hyderabad speaks Hindi too so there is no language barrier

I would say Guwahati, Assam. Amazing people and a super safe City. In terms of development the city is growing at a massive pace. Cleanliness is well maintained in the suburban areas. There's good nightlife too.

There's this hidden gem of a place called Ulwe in Navi Mumbai. Few reasons why this place is surprisingly good
 
1. Great infrastructure. Teir 1 quality Good roads, clean place, Good schools, great societies (mostly independant apartments), has its own local station, great public transport 
2. Affordable. 15k - 1bhk, 40k - 4bhk
3. All typical teir 1 food outlets (mcd, kfc, dominos, pizza hut, naturals). Limited but good local food options. 
4. No political chaos. No gundas, no bhais, no Marathi language bs
5. Friendly and super approachable cops, fire department, public servants, tehsildars, electricity board officers
6. Great place to raise a family. Ulwe is a retirement home for elders and calm place for youngsters to find affordable home. 
7. Connectivity. Belapur and Nerul in 15 mins tops and you are connected to the Mumbai local network. Same with highways. New airport in minutes. 
8. A place so small yet so big on ambitions, you can start contributing to the community and you can become a well known contributor within a year thus helping your business.

Cons 
1. No petrol pump. Nearest in 5km Jasai and Belapur. Only has a CNG station. You can still get fuel in black
2. Limited options with specialists. Handyman, puncture shops, electricians, plumbers but all are good at their job
3. Not a place for foodies, nightlife or Indoor entertainment
4. Unsure if this is a con. Only one good alcohol store. No other recreational drugs / dealers in town. 
5. Stay away from a small disconnected part of ulwe.  Nobody bothers visiting that part of town. Basically a ghetto. 


A mini city in itself if you want a healthy, peaceful and relaxing life away from metro chaos and yet want a teir 1 infrastructure.

Chandigarh is one of the best cities in India to live and work. Yes, it is racist towards outsiders, but so is the rest of India. As a North Indian, from Chandigarh, I have lost count of how many times people who have been racist towards me down South, including Bangalore, which boasts of having global values. Also, please don’t forget the blatant, rampant, in-your-face, organised racism/ religionism of the temples in South India. In comparison, the gurdwaras in Chandigarh and the rest of India will welcome you and feed you irrespective of the religion. 

If you are looking for a non-racist city/region in India, I would probably recommend Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur - basically Rajasthan. The loveliest, most hospitable people in India, and welcoming to outsiders with open arms.
